Fairest of the Fair
History and General Information
The
Oconto County Fairest of the Fair Program began in 1985. The program
was started by area 4-H Leaders to give youth an opportunity to be
the ambassador of the Oconto County Fair and compete for the State
Fairest of the Fair. Many of these leaders are still on the
committee 20 years later.
With the support from the Oconto County Fair Board, the committee
has had a local contestant for the past 21 years compete for the
State Fairest of the Fair Contest, except for one. In January of
1998, Donna Bunker finished first runner-up at the state level,
the highest any Oconto County Fairest of the Fair has finished.
This years Oconto County Fairest of the Fair Contest will be held
June 11, 2007 at Romy’s Holiday Inn, Kelly Lake at 7:00 pm.
